If you recently purchased a pallet wrapping machine to speed up production in your business's warehouse, here are four tips that you need to make sure that you implement and follow in order to ensure the safe and proper use of your pallet wrapping machine, also known as a stretch wrap machine.

#1 Keep The Temperatures Within Normal Range

To start with, you want to make sure that the location where you store your pallet wrapper is kept at a comfortable temperature. If your warehouse dips into freezing temperatures in the winter or soars over 100 degrees in the summer, you are going to want to find a different place to store and use your pallet wrapper.

Your pallet wrapper should be used and stored within a warehouse where extreme temperatures, be it on the freezing side or the boiling hot side, don't happen. These types of temperatures can impede the ability of your pallet wrapping machine to function properly.

#2 Keep The Machine Somewhere Clean

Business warehouse can be messy and busy places. However, your pallet wrapping machine is a sensitive piece of equipment that should be treated with care. It should not be stored anywhere where dust, smoke, or other small airborne debris is present. It should be kept in an area of your warehouse where the air is dry and there is good ventilation. This will ensure that no tiny particles wreck your machine.

#3 Keep Away From Direct Lighting

Next, you need to keep your pallet wrapping machine away from direct lighting. Do not place it right under a strong lightbulb. This could damage the photo eye that guides the machine as it wraps your pallets.

#4 Transport It With A Forklift

When you need to change the location of your pallet wrapper machine, you should not try to pull or drag the machine. Dragging or sliding the machine could cause you to damage on of the components on the machine. Additionally, the machine can be really heavy, and dragging or pulling on it could result in an injury to you as well.

If you need to move the machine, use a forklift that is designed to lift up to or more than the weight of the pallet wrapper. This is the easiest and safest way to move the pallet wrapper without damaging yourself or the machine.

When you move the machine, always make sure that the mast on the turntable is lowered. The mast end of the pallet wrapper should be closest to the forklift operator and further from the edge of the fork lift.
